INDIAN WELLS, CA - UC Riverside earned a 5-0 victory over Cal State Fullerton in the first round of the 2008 Big West Women's Tennis Championships at Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Thursday.

Erynne Oki won at No. 1 singles over Shelly Injejikian 6-0, 6-2. The Highlanders also notched victories at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Nadia Sakhakorn rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Jerusha Cruz.

The Highlanders captured the doubles point to go up 1-0 in the match when Nadia and Yasaman Sakhakorn defeated Karina Akhmedova and Breanna Stowell, 8-5, after the two teams had split matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

UC Riverside improves to 9-10 and takes on top-seeded Long Beach State in Friday's quarterfinals. Cal State Fullerton concludes its season at 3-19.
