2006 WORTH INVITATIONAL HOSTED BY CAL STATE FULLERTON
The Cal State Fullerton softball team will host some of the finest softball programs in the nation this spring at the 2006 Worth Invitational, to be held on March 3-5, 2006. Play in the 11-team event begins at 9 a.m. on all three days at Anderson Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.
This year's field will welcome such nationally-ranked programs as Stanford, Oregon State, Northwestern, Georgia, and Tennessee to Southern California to compete in the three-day round-robin event.
UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Texas Tech, Purdue, and Loyola-Chicago will also compete alongside the host Titans.
Oregon State emerged as the unofficial champion of a rain-soaked 2005 Worth Invitational with an unblemished 4-0 record. Downpours washed out all but one game at the Titan Softball Complex on Day One as two games were moved to nearby Golden West JC in Huntington Beach, Calif., after the Fullerton fields were rendered unplayable.
Mother Nature then dried things up in time for a full slate of contests on Days Two and Three.
