WELCOME TO "XTRA TIME"!

Junior Defender Jenae GibbensSEPT. 14, 2007

Welcome to "XTRA Time," an insider look at your favorite Cal State Fullerton women's soccer players off the field. Each week, we will feature a new student-athlete and get their answers to the "hard-hitting" questions.

The first entry of the 2007 season comes from junior Jenae Gibbens, a defender from San Diego, Calif., who earned All-Big West Conference Second-Team honors last year while helping the Titans to their second-straight Big West Conference Tournament title and a run into the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Entering this weekend's matches, Gibbens is tied for first on the team with two goals and four points on the year. She scored her first career goal against Idaho State and added another in the Titans' narrow loss to No. 1 Portland.

Q: Cal State Fullerton will be fun to watch this year because...
A: "We are loud and entertaining to watch. We are full of energy, tackles, and goals and were really get the crowd excited."

Q: My pregame ritual is...
A: "I always put my gear on my left foot first, then the right, while listening to 'Pour Some Sugar on Me' by Def Leppard. When I get to the field, I run to the arc on top of the 18 before kickoff and do a handshake that I have done since club days."

Q: The best advice I have ever received...
A: "Your confidence is your own."

Q: Biggest Rival...
A: "Long Beach State and UC Riverside."

Q: The team I would most like to add to Fullerton's schedule is (and why?)...
A: "Notre Dame and North Carolina so we can beat the best."

Q: If I could play any sport OTHER than soccer it would be (and why?)...
A: "Basketball because I used to play in high school."

Q: What does it mean to be a Titan?
A: "Giving 100% effort into the little things to represent Cal State Fullerton with pride."

Q: Favorite Movie...
A: "The Count of Monte Cristo."

Q: Favorite Actor...
A: "Denzel Washington."

Q: Favorite Actress...
A: "Diane Lane."

Q: Favorite soccer moment...
A: "Beating LMU in last year's NCAA Tournament, 3-0. The team came together as we peaked and we took care of business."

Q: My favorite quote or saying by Head Coach Demian Brown...
A: " 'Good teams find a way to win.' Meaning that even in adverse situations, good teams find a way to get the job done. It motivates the team to do whatever it takes to get the result."

Q: If I could have a superhero power it would be (and why?)...
A: "I would love to fly because there is a sense of adventure to it and I always LOVE a good adventure."
