Morgan Atkinson has his eyes on the NCAA Championships as he begins his senior season with the Titans... begins the campaign ranked No. 1 in the Pac-10... two-time NCAA qualifier who won the Pac-10 championship last season and was selected Titans' most valuable performer... went 1-2 at nationals to complete a 28-5 season with 7 major decisions and 3 pins... was 12-1 in duals including a perfect 8-0 in the Pac-10... placed second at the Tournament of Champions in Reno... won a championship at the Fullerton Open... in April he placed third in Greco and fourth in freestyle at 154.25 pounds at the 2007 University championships in Akron, Ohio... in 2006 he went 2-2 at the national meet to finish with an overall record of 26-16 (11-6 in duals)... placed fourth at the Pac-10 Championships... wrestling primarily at 157 pounds in 2004-05, he posted a 10-6 record (6-3 at 157, 4-1 at 149)... was 4-1 in Pac-10 duals at 157... placed sixth at the Pac-10 Championships at 157... in 2003-04 he posted a 3-3 record including one pin and one major decision competing unattached... made the honor roll in each of his first two college semesters... selected to the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Pac-10 All-Academic Teams... came from a very successful program at Temecula Valley High School in Temecula... his team won the CIF championship in both his junior and senior seasons... he was CIF champion and took fourth place at the state as a senior... team captain and MVP... Riverside County champion... was ranked No. 30 in the nation among seniors by USA Wrestling Magazine... he was second in the CIF as a junior and was ranked No. 21 among juniors in the nation by USA Wrestling... among his high school coaches were former Titans Lyndon Campbell and Arnold Alpert... won the CIF sportsmanship award and was a member of the national freestyle team... born on July 19, 1985, in Arcadia, California... parents are Mike and Margaret Atkinson... three other "M" siblings in Maclain (23), Mitch (19) and Mason (17)... business administration major... enjoys surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding and playing the drums.
