Sacramento, Calif. - Senior-to-be guard Josh Akognon will work out for the Sacramanto Kings in preparations for the June 26 NBA player draft.

Akognon will travel to Sacramento on June 2 and work out the next day before returning to Southern California. He went to high school in Petaluma, California, which is about an hour's drive west of the state capital.

Akognon has made himself eligible for the draft but has not signed with an agent and may reclaim his senior year of eligibility by withdrawing by June 16. As a junior he was the No. 2 scorer in the Big West Conference and was the Most Valuable Player of the 2008 Big West Tournament.
