Jorgenson Named BWC Pitcher of the Week
March 24, 2008
Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's Adam Jorgenson earned Easton Big West Pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending Mar. 23. The senior reliever notched a pair of saves on back-to-back days to help the Titans to a sweep of a gritty UNLV team Friday and Saturday. Jorgenson came in both days with no more than a two run lead and converted both saves without allowing a hit. Friday night, the right-hander came in with a 7-5 lead and pitched the final two frames striking out four of the seven batters he faced for his first save of the year. On Saturday afternoon, the Costa Mesa native inherited runners at first and second with one out in a 4-3 game and proceeded to close out the game with a pop-out and a strikeout for his second save in as many days. Jorgenson now has 13 career saves, good for No. 9 all-time in career saves at Cal State Fullerton. With 13 career saves, he now sits just one save behind Mark Kotsay in the No. 8 slot. This is the second time in the right-hander's career he has won Pitcher of the Week honors. |
