IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE: Played two seasons (2004, 2006) for the Irvine Valley College (Irvine, Calif.) Lasers under Head Coach Kent Madole • Forced to sit out the entire 2005 season with an arm injury • Posted a 5-5 record with a 2.56 ERA as a sophomore in 2006, ranking fourth in conference in ERA and second in strikeouts (100) • Tallied an Irvine Valley College record of 100 strikeouts in 84.1 innings and held opponents to just a .196 batting average in 2006 • Set an individual game strikeout record (12) in a complete-game win over Santa Ana on Apr. 29, 2006 • Was named to the 2006 All-Orange Empire Conference First Team.

DANA POINT HS: Played three seasons for Head Coach Zeke Barragan at Dana Point High School • Was a two-time All-South Coast League first-teamer his junior and senior years, posting a .340 average those two seasons with 11 home runs and 57 RBI • Hit .375 and led the entire Dolphin team with seven home runs and tied a school record with 34 RBI • Helped the Dolphins to a 20-8 overall record in 2002, the best overall record in school's history.
