Palo Alto, Calif. - Freshmen Grace Gonzales and Jeff Mackay led the way for the Cal State Fullerton women's and men's cross country teams in the Stanford Invitational Saturday in Palo Alto.

Gonzales placed 26th in a time of 21:52 among the women on the 6K course while Mackay finished 48th among the men in 25:21 on the 8K course. The women finished 12th while the men were tied for 15th place.

Rounding out the Titan women's scoring were Andrea Aguilar (52nd in 22:22), Amanda Eichmann (54th in 22:24), Juliane Masciana (64th in 22:32) and Gail Munoz (80th in 22:50).

For the men the balance of the scoring came from Eddie Perez (65th in 25:38), Cory Vaselenko (89th in 25:55), Sean April (98th in 26:01) and Chris Cattern (104th in 26:05).

Meanwhile, running at the UC Riverside Invitational, the Titan women placed 11th paced by Kristen Hernandez in 47th place at 18:43.90 over the 5K course. She was followed by Kirsten Drake (72nd in 19:07.46), Valerie Acevedo (83rd, 19:17.00), Erin Morgan (88th in 19:19.66) and Leah Richards (94th in 19:21.66). Running solo for the men was Sean Laurino, who placed 88th in 27:17.90 over the 8 K course.
