A GUIDE FOR TITANS ATHLETICS BOOSTERS

Dear Cal State Fullerton Alumni, Friends and Family:

"Titan Pride" has been the rallying call for 12 national team championships in seven different sports, hundreds of individual All-Americans, dozens of eventual professional athletes, numerous national coach of the year award winners, Olympic basketball players, an astronaut, a Miss America candidate and the subject of a Walt Disney film.

Our athletics program would not be what it is today without the support of loyal alumni, friends and family like you. Your support is equally important in our effort to maintain compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. Cal State Fullerton is held responsible for the actions of well-meaning but occasionally misguided fans who commit NCAA violations. The consequences can be severe and may include loss of athletics eligibility for our student-athletes and bans on post-season competition for our team(s).

The areas where boosters are most vulnerable to committing NCAA violations involve;
A. the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and;
B. providing extra benefits to current student-athletes.

A guide (download and view by clicking here) has been developed to provide you with basic information regarding NCAA rules. While this guide is not intended to cover every possible situation, it does answer the most commonly asked questions and provides contact information in the event that you need further clarification.

We appreciate your support as we strive for the highest level of ethical conduct while helping our student-athletes achieve academic and athletic excellence. By assisting Cal State Fullerton in NCAA rules compliance, you are helping to protect and preserve the ability of our student-athletes to play the sport they love and safeguarding the integrity of our Titans.

Thank you for your continued support and go Titans!

Sincerely,

Dr. Milton A. Gordon, University President
